Mum and dad's trip - Saturday

On saturday morning, mum and I headed to the Oriental Bazaar in Omotesando,to get some much-needed retil therapy done. It's a great place to get Japanese items under one roof and there is a great selection. Dad and Neil went to the gym and we met them afterwards at a lovely cafe nearby for lunch.

We then decided to head to the famous Meiji Jingu shrine to soak up the atmosphere. It is a beautiful place and set in serene grounds surrounded by trees and foliage. We were lucky enough to witness some classic sights, including a shinto wedding, something that always moves me.

After the Meiji Jingu shrine, we headed to Yoyogi park to witness the blossom parties that happen there every year, where everyone gets quietly and slowly sozzled, sitting on blue tarpaulins under the blossom trees. It's quite a sight and another moving scene. We even bumped into a few friends while we were there.

We came back through Shibuya and then our friend Tatsuya came round for dinner to sample Neil's rather tasty shepherds pie.
