Mum and dad's trip - monday

Monday was another gorgeous sunny day, so we decided to make the most of it and stroll along the Meguro river. The blossom trees are starting to bloom and there are already lots of people out trying to find the best blossom shot. We wandered all the way along the river (stopping for a nice coffee break in a park along the way) to the rather amazing Meguro Gajoen hotel, an enormous structure over-looking the river. Inside, the decor is a strange mixture of traditional Japanese gardens and restaurants, mixed with ultra modern architecture and we ended up having a scrumptious tempura lunch in a brand new restaurant there, sitting at the bar.

After filling up, we headed off to Ebisu Garden Place and up to the 39th floor of the tower there, where you have an amazing view of the city and can get a feel for the immensity of Tokyo and its urban sprawl.
