Afternoon tea

I have an English friend here in Tokyo who has started a new business venture - to teach Japanese ladies the art of English tea-making, whilst learning English at the same time!

On friday, she did a trial run with some willing guinea pigs and it was a lot of fun. We spent the first part of the afternoon learning how to make scones, as well as cucumber sandwiches and bright pink cupcakes. We then had the fun bit of sitting down to a table swathed in lace, and bedecked with an array of traditional English cups and saucers. The food was scrumptious, and was washed down with a perfectly brewed cuppa, of course.
